Privacy
Chancity helps people plan small events and choose which events to go to. It is run by Persists Innovation LLP. This page says what we keep, who else sees it, how long we keep it, and how to have it removed.
If you use Chancity
What you do here is private to your account. Other people using Chancity can't see your plans, notes or guest lists.
Your account holds:
- Your sign-in. Your email address, and your name if you use Google. No passwords.
- Your plans. The events you plan or mark, your goals, and the people you shortlist, rate or make notes about.
- Profiles you look up. If you add your LinkedIn, or ask about someone, a short summary of that public profile.
- Contacts you unlock. Kept so you're never charged twice for the same person.
Only if you connect them:
- Luma, read-only: your calendars and events, and the guest lists of your own events with the answers guests gave you. We can't change anything on Luma.
- Gmail, send-only: invitations you approve go from your address. We can't read your inbox.
- Google Calendar, read-only, to spot clashes. We don't store it.
People we suggest
We suggest people using what Luma shows publicly on event pages: their name, short bio, LinkedIn link, and the public events they were at. We don't suggest people whose events are mostly in the EU, the EEA or the UK.
Rather not be suggested? Ask to be removed, by your Luma profile or your email. New suggestions stop at once, and plans already made catch up within days. Once we've checked it's you, we delete what accounts here hold about you. To make sure you aren't added back, we keep a one-way fingerprint of your email, never the address itself.
Services that help run Chancity
We don't sell your data, show ads, or use tracking tools. Each of these services gets only what it needs:

Cookies
Only what Chancity needs to work. No tracking, and nothing from anyone else.

How long we keep it
- Your plans and notes: as long as your account is open.
- If you delete your account (in Settings): your connections are cut at once, and everything else is deleted after 30 days, unless you sign back in.
- If you disconnect Luma: we stop at once, and delete what we copied after 30 days, unless you reconnect.
- Guests who leave your Luma event are removed from our copy at the next clean-up.
- Sign-in links expire in 15 minutes. You stay signed in for 30 days.
